INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN'S FESTIVAL SIBENIK (July-August). The International Children's Festival takes place on the streets of renaissance town Sibenik. Both professional and amateur ensembles participate on the festival; there are specialized creative workshop for children as well as film showings, performances by theater groups, music ensembles, and puppet shows.

PAG SUMMER (July-August). Serious music concerts, recitals and soloist concerts - seven concerts in a row. First Pag Summer festival was organized in 1999.

PAG SUMMER CARNIVAL, end of July. As a part of Pag Summer, Pag Summer Carnival is one of the oldest summer carnivals celebrating its 45th birthday this year. During the carnival a costumed parade accompanied by music and entertainers rolls the streets of Pag. Guests to the island are welcome to mask themselves and join the townsmen in celebration.

ZADAR SUMMER THEATRE (July-August). Summer theater festival features state of the art plays of various character and genre from the national theater. The performances are held in cultural-historical venues of Zadar (open as well as closed ones). The festival was founded in 1995.
MUSICAL EVENINGS IN ST. DONAT (July- August). International musical festival; takes place since 1960 in the St. Donat Church and other sacral venues of Zadar. The festival is composed of two cycles: Musica Antiqua (medieval, renaissance and baroque music) and Musica da Camera. Performers are renowned musicians from home and abroad.

FISHERMEN NIGHTS, July-August, Starigrad-Paklenica. In this public festivities you can find a wide offer of domestic food and vines, music, and entertaining program on town squares.
PAKOSTANE SUMMER, July - August. Summer festival for guests of Pakostane: music concerts, attractive happenings on the town streets and many places in town, public festivities, performances.
BIOGRAD SUMMER (July-August). Diverse events on the streets and different town venues during summer months: concerts of serious music and profane music, dramatic program taking place on streets and squares, public festivities on the waterfront, exhibitions in Native Museum, guest performances. |

INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF NEW FILM, 26/06-02/07. International festival of film, video and new media. During the festival there will be viewings of selected works, installations, internet projects, performances, retrospectives, workshops, round tables and similar events. The festival has been held since the year 1996 and is a member of the European coordination of film festivals.

SPLIT SUMMER (14/07-14/08). International festival of opera, drama, dance and music in Split, a town of many cultural layers and rich cultural heritage; on the whole the festival takes place in ambient venues - historic core of the city and outside it - trying to unite the traditional and modern, inherited and actual, Croatian and European. The festival, beside its own production of HNK Split, welcomes numerous guests from the music, drama, and dance scene both from home and abroad; the best performances in music and drama is presented with a "Judita" award by the daily newspaper «Slobodna Dalmacija». Split summer is one of Croatia's oldest and most attractive summer festivals - it has been regularly held since the year 1954.

OMIS FESTIVAL OF DALMATIAN VOCAL GROUP SINGING (KLAPA) National festival of "klapa" singing is all about preserving and promoting public songs and encouraging the writing and creation of new songs for vocal group singing. The festival is of competitive character, and the best singing groups are presented with awards. It was founded in 1967 and has been continuously held ever since.

KNIGHT PARTY FROM SINJ (SINJSKA ALKA), 06/08-08/08. Traditional knightly competition of "alkars" from Sinj evokes the victory of people from Cetina region over Turks on 15th August 1715. Knight tournament is in fact a competition in which the participants must tilt an iron ring hanging on a rope 332 cm off the ground (so called "alka") while galloping on a horse.
HVAR SUMMER PERFORMANCES (21/06-13/10). Hvar summer cultural manifestation is one of the oldest in Croatia: musical, theater and folklore programs are organized in picturesque ambiance of town Hvar, which welcomes artist from home and abroad. Hvar summer performances usually last for about 100 days.
HIC FAROS, HIC ARS: cultural summer in Stari Grad, (July - September), Stari Grad (island of Hvar). Summer cultural artistic program in Stari Grad on Hvar is focused on preserving the cultural heritage: exhibitions, lectures and scientific groups, musical program (classical music concerts, soloist concerts), dramatic program (actors performances and theater), and summer workshops (restoration workshops, ceramics workshop, architecture and design workshop).
TROGIR CULTURAL SUMMER (August). Many different happenings all throughout the summer: musical evenings (concerts of classical music and guest performances from home and abroad, chamber music), folklore review, theater-scenic events in authentic space of the Old Town centre, public festivities: fisherman's night, Town day, exhibitions of Croatian and foreign artist in the Modern Gallery.
MAKARSKA CULTURAL SUMMER (July-August). Various cultural-entertaining program with open-air happenings, concerts of classical music, vocal singing, choirs and soloists, jazz evenings, exhibitions, and theater performances. |

DUBROVNIK SUMMER FESTIVAL (10/07-25/08). Largest and most representative cultural manifestation in Croatia: international musical-dramatic and dance festival situated in the Old Town of Dubrovnik. Festival stages about 80 theater, ballet, opera, and musical performances, literary work promotions, exhibitions, poetry evenings, off theater performances etc. Dubrovnik Summer Games were founded in 1950 and have been listed in the European Festivals Association (EFA) since 1956.

QUARANTINE nr. 8, 25/08-10/09, Dubrovnik. International multimedia festival - questions modern artistic aspirations in different fields: theater, modern dance, performance, music, new media, film and video; it especially tries to affirm independent projects and new modes of artistic initiatives. JULIAN RACHLIN AND FRIENDS FESTIVAL, 05/09-15/09, Dubrovnik. Festival of chamber music in the beautiful ambience of the Atrium Knezev Dvor in Dubrovnik stages six concerts by world-renowned artists gathered around the violinist Julian Rachlin. The festival is taking place for the second time this year and along with Julian Rachlin will be performing violoncellist Mischa Maisky and Thomas Carroll, pianist Itamar Golan, violinist Yuri Bashmet, violinist Janine Jansen, clarinettist Ernst Ottensammer, the chamber group "Viennese virtuosos " and other well known musicians.
MARKO POLO FESTIVAL (09/07-11/07), Korcula. International festival of song and vine, traditionally held on a summer stage of town Korcula. Besides the entertaining program, guests may try original vines from Korcula.
KORCULA SUMMER (July-August). Traditional summer festival with a rich entertaining program that includes musical evenings (concerts of classical and pop music), theater program (guest theaters and stage ensembles), and dance program (folklore and dance ensembles). The programs also contain sport events and sail regattas on the sea around Korcula.
BLATO SUMMER, July - August, Blato (island of Korcula). Guests can see and hear indigenous songs, dances, national costumes and musical instruments from Korcula at this traditional summer manifestation. Besides performances by folklore ensembles concerts of classical music are held in the town's cathedral famous for its stone architecture and excellent acoustics.
INTERNATIONAL KNIGHTHOOD GAMES FESTIVAL ON KORCULA (July- August), Korcula. Festival of traditional sword dances from Korcula has been held since the year 1997 with the emphasis on preserving old dances and indigenous culture of the island of Korcula. In the middle age atmosphere and surroundings of squares and streets of town Korcula as well as other places, the knight associations do the moreska, kumpanija and mostra, and there are guest performances by international associations and knight societies from other parts of Croatia. |
