Insel Zirje

Insel Zirje

The island of Zirje is the most distant, permanently inhabited island in the Sibenik archipelago and it is considered a part of Kornati islands.

Zirje is a small Adriatic island (15.5 square kilometers in size) which only adds to its beauty and charm. It is an excellent place for a relaxing vacation at any time of the year.

The island is full of beautiful historic ruins, charming nature and lovely beaches. This is the right place where you can, far from the city crowd, feel the ambience of peaceful and traditional island life. Besides the fishing wealth of Zirje aquatorium, interior of the island is a rich hunting area (hares, pheasants, etc.) what makes Zirje an interesting destination for hunting tourism!

Along the entire island there are bike courses which give you an opportunity to reach most of the hidden beaches. During the year Zirje is well connected by boat lines with the rest of the continent (twice a day!) and also by ferry (twice a month out of season and during the summer season once a week) from Šibenik port. So you can reach Zirje island by personal means of transportation because Zirje has solid traffic infrastructure (asphalt roads and macadam routes up to 15 kilometers long).
