Riviera is placed in the area of north Dalmatia. The Sibenik Riviera is a 100 kilometer stretch of coastline from Rogoznica to the village of Draga in Zadar County. It is a real pearl of touristic offer for its enormous beauty of landscapes, picturesque places and many cultural and historic monuments. River Krka in its short way to the sea, only 72 km, goes through deep canyons making many cascades and lakes.
Sea and coast also have great natural and economic value, where tourism is developed in many villages known for its natural ambient, architectural heritage and diversity of tourist offer.
Climate is Mediterranean with big middle insulation average (2710 hours). Summer temperatures are relatively high but milded by Maestral wind (blows from sea toward land). There are some rains during the winter, but summers are predominantly dry. Coastal vegetation is Mediterranean .Sea is the regions greatest value with coast of 56,2 km measured from point to point, and real length 805,9 km. Biggest river is river Krka that goes through many cascades (Miljacka, Manojlovac, Bilusic buk, Roski slap and Skradinski buk). There are two national parks in the Sibenik region, Krka and Kornati.
National parks of Krka and Kornati, and lot of smaller places, make this area special and beautiful. Man was attracted to this area since the beginning of the time, and proofs to that there are many historic monuments, roman villages and towns, medieval and renaissance forts and buildings.
Villages of Sibenik riviera are: Zaton, Pirovac, Tisno, Tribunj, Vodice, Srima, Brodarica, Zaboric, Grebastica, Sparadici, Primosten and Rogoznica. The islands of Sibenik are oasis of peace and beauty. Their uniqueness, autonomy in space apart from any traffic and urban rush allows you to relax in a surrounding of perfume of Mediterranean herbs and sea.
There are also many possibilities to go on sport fishing, water sports, scuba diving and swimming in crystal clear sea.
The Sibenik Archipelago has 249 big and small islands and rocks. The island of Sibenik are: Kornati, Zlarin, Prvic, Kaprije, Zirje, Obonjan, Kakan, Krapanj and Murter.
